‘‘It’s indeed a pleasure to honour the emirate’s top exporting companies which have gone above and beyond in their exporting activities and have set a positive example for the trading community to follow,’’ he said adding that this recognition not only leads to higher trade performance but goes on to consolidate Dubai’s position as the world’s third largest re-export centre.
He further added that the SME Exporter of the Month recognition which comes under Dubai Chamber’s strategic objectives of creating a favourable business environment and supporting the development of business, also drives business competitiveness in the emirate as well as directly supports the development of Dubai as a major business destination.
Representatives of the recipient companies expressed their gratitude to Dubai Chamber for its support in encouraging positive and healthy competition within the business community which ultimately benefit their companies while boosting Dubai’s competitive business environment.
Dubai Chamber launched the SME Exporter of the Month initiative in 2009, under the name SME Exporter of the Quarter. The initiative was changed in 2010 to make it a monthly event due to its popularity and success. The SME Exporter of the Month was initiated to recognise, support, and encourage the trade performance of the Dubai-based trading community. The data for the selection of the recognition is retrieved from Dubai Chamber’s Certificate of Origin database.
