Following the company’s double win (best show director and best launch) at the inaugural EN Indy Awards. EN talks to Raccoon Events MD Mike Seaman to learn more about the growing business.

Tell us a bit about your business

We are a young and dynamic events business focused on health and well-being markets. Our flagship brand (the National Running Show) has grown over 200 per cent in two years and is being cloned in other locations around the world. We have several new launches planned for 2020 and beyond.

Why did you enter the EN Indy Awards?

The EN Indy Awards is a fantastic opportunity for independent organisers to be recognised for their achievements. It gives companies like us a platform to celebrate success, network with our peers, meet with new suppliers and potential investors from across the industry.

What did it feel like to win at the inaugural EN Indys?

We were lucky enough to win two awards at the inaugural event which felt amazing! Having our achievements recognised by an independent panel of industry experts was a fantastic boost for the team and helped raise the profile of our business considerably. Being an award winning business provides considerable long term value and reassures our customers of our continued commitment to quality and service.

Why is it important to recognise independent organisers?

It is harder and harder for large scale event organisers to launch new products which makes independent organisers crucial to the continued success and growth of the sector. The Indys is a brilliant event and is a catalyst for emerging organisers like us to develop and grow.

Entries for the EN indy Awards 2019 close on 16 August, to enter or learn more click here.
